Below is the image of a Twitter post I made following the confirmation in early November 2023 of the location of the tomb of a 15th Century ancestor of mine — Sayed (Said) Kamal (also known by the alias “Girayan” in the local language) — who was the grandson of my ancestor who had left Papin at Ningarhar in present day Afghanistan, to settle in the south Indian Tajik-founded Bahmani Sultanate….the causes for which migration I believe I have a fair amount of clues regarding, but will leave undiscussed for the time being. The reason seems to have been some long forgotten but widespread social contention, the traces of which are still visible in this general area….
Sayed Kamal Girayan’s tomb is situated in Sultanpur village of Gulbarga District in the Karnataka State of India. I have requested further information, but it has yet to be conveyed to me.
