Zahhak, the Ghoris, “Arabs” — and other Assyrian-Elamite mysteries of Afghanistan
“Arabs” in Iran (i.e Assyrian populations before Aryans) are shown in the diagram below….note the heavy presence of Y-Haplogroup G2a (characterising older Karlani Pashtun tribes — as well as old non-Pashtun Iranian tribes and tribal remnants in this region)…in this chart.
It should be noted that many old tribes in the Pashtun region such as Burkis and Mashwanis and others traditionally refer to themselves as Kurds and Arabs respectively, even though the Burki language (Ormari) is Eastern Iranian unlike Kurdish, while the Mashwanis and their kindred tribes like to think of themselves as “Sayeds” among Arabs. Even so, all this points to something very interesting, yet deeply obscured by the merciless accretions of time and history.
Semiramis was the Queen of Assyria and she is said to have ruled over Bactria too. This was 200 years before the Aryan tribes had become dominant and unified under Cyrus.
The Ghoris on the other hand, claimed to be the descendants of the villain of the Shahnama called Zahhak Azhdaha, the “Arab” dragon. This is a legend, but legends normally enshrine a core truth. In the case of the Ghoris it preserves the knowledge of their forgotten pre-Aryan Assyrian-Elamite origins.

𝐙𝐚𝐡𝐡𝐚𝐤, is an evil figure in Persian mythology, evident in ancient Persian folklore as Azhi Dahāka, the name by which he also appears in the texts of the Avesta.
Zahhak claimed Jamshid’s throne. He ruled as an evil tyrant for years and killed many innocent young people to satisfy the snakes. One night he dreamed that three warriors attacked, bound, and dragged him to Mount Damavand near Tehran as a cheering crowd followed.
In Zoroastrianism, Zahhak (going under the name Aži Dahāka) is considered the son of Ahriman, the foe of Ahura Mazda. In the Shāhnāmah of Ferdowsi, Zahhāk is the son of a ruler named Merdās.
Zahhak ultimately gets defeated by Persian hero and legend Kaveh the blacksmith.
